Besides the Sonar, Primavera Sound is one of the most important Festivals in Barcelona – and one of the largest in Spain. While the Sonar Festival focuses more on electronic music, the Primavera Sound is a rock music festival. The festival site is located in Parc del Forum, close to the sea and a little bit north of town. Though its very good connected with public transport.

In the last years – besides newcomers – many international stars like Neil Young, Portishead, Pixies, Pet Shop Boys, Nick Cave, My Bloody Valentine, Pulp, Patti Smith, Arcade Fire, Public Enemy, Grinderman, Franz Ferdinand, Devo, The White Stripes, New Order, Iggy & The Stooges, Queens of the Stone Age, De La Soul, Lou Reed, Marianne Faithfull, The Cure, Blur and the Wu-Tang Clan have performed on the stages.
